I was born in Manor Park, East London in 1967 and later moved to Essex, growing up around Southend and Leigh-on-Sea. After briefly living in London again I re-located to Herefordshire with my wife and two young sons.

My interest in photography began seriously in the early 1990s when I first discovered the 35mm SLR. I picked up a GCSE in photography along the way and completed my BSc (Hons) 1st Class in Technology in 1997. Working mainly with black and white film, I photographed live bands and performances, did some portrait work and covered one or two weddings as second photographer in the early days of reportage.

I covered my first 'solo' wedding in 1999 and continued to photograph weddings on a part-time basis, making the transition to digital in 2003. At that time my main profession was working as an IT Manager so moving to computer processing rather than spending long, lonely evenings in the darkroom was a smooth and welcome career boost! After moving to Herefordshire I concentrated on combining my IT and photography skills and went into business for myself. I now photograph weddings, studio portraits, live music & performance and other commercial commissions. I have been a wedding photographer for weddings in Essex, Hertfordshire, Derbyshire, Cornwall, South Wales, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and now work mainly in the West Midlands.
In addition, I teach the basics of digital photography in evening classes at John Masefield HIgh School in Ledbury and at Malvern Library.

In May 2008 I qualified for my licentiateship with the BIPP. I think qualifications are an important thing for clients to look for when choosing a photographer as it shows we have achieved a level of competency and commitment to the profession. Of course, you have to love our photography too!

I have two other passions that fill my time; music and aviation. I have played bass guitar since 1985 and am currently playing for a couple of bands (available for booking at weddings & events of course), and I have a private pilot's licence (PPL) for helicopters, something I don't use nearly as often as I would like to!
